SUNY COBLESKILL ATHLETICS TO HOST FREE PUBLIC SCREENING OF
“WE ARE MARSHALL”
On Thursday March 27th the SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department will host a free public screening of the Warner Brothers Studio hit movie “We are Marshall” at the College’s Bouck Hall Theater beginning at 7:00 PM.
The movie is based on a true story surrounding the aftermath of a fatal plane crash that claimed the lives of 75 members of the Marshal University Football program, athletic staff, boosters and community members as the team traveled back to Huntington, West Virginia after a game in North Carolina in November of 1970. The story focuses on the efforts to rebuild the “Thundering Herd” football program under the direction of inspirational young head coach Jack Lengyel and its effect on the struggles of those left behind to cope with the devastating loss of their loved ones.
On Friday March 28th the SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department will be hosting “An Evening with Jack Lengyel” beginning at 6:30 PM at the college’s Bouck Theater. The program will serve as a salute to the colleges past history as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and to recognize the school’s impending move to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) next year.
A limited number of tickets for the Friday’s programare available on a first come/first serve basis can be obtained thru the athletic department during regular business hours. Cost of the event will be $5 per-event and $10 at the door depending on availability. Additionally SUNY Cobleskill students, faculty & staff will be admitted free provided that they reserve their tickets prior the event with a limit of one per person.
