FIGHTING TIGERS DROP MOUNTAIN VALLEY CONFERENCE DOUBLEHEADER TO HERKIMER COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Playing their third doubleheader in three days, the SUNY Cobleskill men’s baseball team’s pitching staff could not hold off the visiting Generals of Herkimer Community College yesterday in Mountain Valley Conference action at Fighting Tiger Field. The Fighting Tigers dropped a doubleheader to the visitors by scores of 10-1 and 18-4 to fall to 7-18 on the year with a 2-6 mark in league play.

Freshman third baseman Matt Hansen, Southold, NY, Southold High School, posted a 2-for-3 outing in the first game for the Fighting Tigers while senior Brett Wrixon, Kingston, NY, Kingston High School, playing shortstop in the second game went 2-for-3 in the contest.

Cobleskill will return to action on Wednesday April 25th when they host Columbia-Greene Community College in Mountain Valley Conference action at Fighting Tiger Field beginning at 2:00 PM.
