YOUNG NAMED SUNY COBLESKILL BASEBALL TEAM 2005 MVP
Freshman first baseman Matt Young, Delmar, NY, Bethlehem High School, has been named the SUNY Cobleskill men’s baseball team’s Most Valuable Player for the 2005 season. The award was presented to Young by Fighting Tiger Head Coach Shawn Noel at the college’s annual Athletic Awards Convocation.
The Bethlehem High School alumnus was named to the All-Mountain Valley Conference Team this season after posting a .382 batting average with one home run and 26 RBI for the season. During the season Young pounded out 39 hits in 102 at-bats, including 10 doubles and two triples, for the Fighting Tigers scoring 29 runs on the year.
Cobleskill finished the season with an 11-24 overall record including a 7-9 mark in Mountain Valley Conference play. |
