About the Program
The program is a three-part season set up to keep our student-athletes competing at the highest level in the classroom and on the field. Baseball begins the day a team member walks on campus. The fall season includes pre-season games and scrimmages against outside competition, intrasquad scrimmages, daily practice fundamentals, plyometrics and weight conditioning, mental preparation, and our annual Orange & Black Game. This gives the coaching staff a chance to evaluate players over an extended period of time to see what a player’s future will hold with the program.
The winter is the off-season where we provide indoor facilities such as: our fitness center for weight training, our field house with indoor batting cages for hitting, two indoor mounds for pitching, an open infield area, and our indoor pool for aquatic training. The winter is important for team growth, strength enhancement and conditioning.
Our annual spring trip in March kicks-off our competitive season. The season is a 40 game schedule which includes competition against Mountain Valley Conference teams, NJCAA Region III teams, along with competition against top teams at various levels nationwide. The Region III Division III record determines qualification and seeding for tournament play, with the chance to advance to the NJCAA Division III World Series.
