FIGHTING TIGER MEN FALL TO FMCC 70-68 IN BATTLE OF NATIONALLY RANKED PROGRAMS
The SUNY Cobleskill men’s basketball team dropped a 70-68 Mountain Valley Conference decision to visiting Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Saturday at the Iorio Gymnasium. The nationally ranked number seven Fighting Tigers could not hold off the number eight ranked Raiders in the battle of NJCAA Division III national powers after leading at the half 37-28. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 21-5 overall on the season with an 11-3 mark versus league competition.
Freshman forward/center Vladimir Colas, Warwick, NY,Warwick High School, scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the game for the Fighting Tigers while freshman guard Jayson Taylor, Deer Path, NY, Ossining High School, chipped in 17 points on the afternoon. Senior swingman Devon Moore, Brooklyn, NY, Family Academy High School, posted 13 points to go with eight rebounds on the afternoon and freshman forward Stanley Francois, Valley Cottage, NY, Suffern High School, had eleven points, five rebounds and three assists in Cobleskill’s final regular season home game of the year.
The Fighting Tigers return to the court on Monday February 19th when they travel to Herkimer, NY to meet the Generals of Herkimer Community College for a Mountain Valley Conference game at 7:00 PM. |
