FRANCK NAMED FIGHTING TIGER ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that freshman Jude Franck, Spring Valley, NY, Ramapo High School, a member of the men’s basketball program has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.

The 6’7” center scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds, passed out three assists and blocked five shots on Friday for the Fighting Tigers in a 64-61 overtime loss to Mohawk Valley Community College in the quarterfinals of the 2007 NJCAA Region III Division III Championship Tournament hosted by Herkimer Community College in Herkimer, NY. On the season the Spring Valley, NY native averaged 6.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocked shots per game while shooting 55.6% from the field and 68.0% from the free throw line in 29 appearances for the Fighting Tigers.

Cobleskill closes the 2006-07 season with a 21-7 overall record marking the program’s twelfth twenty-win season and fourteenth NJCAA Division III Post-Season Tournament appearance.
