KLOPFER HONORED BY SUNY COBLESKILL AS MEN’S SOCCER & TENNIS TEAM’S MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
SUNY Cobleskill men’s soccer and tennis team member senior Greg Klopfer, Voorheesville, NY, Voorheesville High School, has been named the Most Valuable Player Award recipient for both teams for his accomplishments this season. Klopfer received his awards at college’s 2008 Athletic Awards Convocation.
On the soccer field the Fighting Tiger midfielder scored five goals and passed out three assists this year as Cobleskill posted as program best 16-2-1 overall record capturing the Mountain Valley Conference Co-Championship and advancing to the NJCAA Region III Division III Championship Game for the second consecutive second. He also served as a team captain this season.
On the tennis courts the Voorheesville, NY native posted a perfect 4-0 record in conference play this season at the number three singles position for the Fighting Tigers. The Cobleskill team captain finished the year with a 10-1 overall singles record finishing the campaign as the NJCAA Region III Runner-up at the number three singles slot losing in the flight’s championship match.
Klopfer also earned All-Mountain Valley Conference honors at the number two doubles position where he posted a perfect 4-0 record against league opponents while finishing the year with a 10-1 overall record after losing in the NJCAA Region III Championship Match.
