MORTENSEN NAMED SUNY COBLESKILL MOST VALUABLE FEMALE SWIMMER

Senior Amber Mortensen, Alpha, NJ, Warren Hills High School, has been named the SUNY Cobleskill women’s swimming & diving program’s Most Valuable Swimmer for the 2003-04 season. Mortensen was presented the award at the college’s annual Athletic Awards Convocation by Fighting Tiger Head Coach Mary Irving.

The senior distance specialist helped the Fighting Tigers to the Mountain Valley Conference Championship this past season by placing second in the 1000 Freestyle and second in the 500 Freestyle at the league’s championship meet. Mortensen also brought home a fifth place finish for the Fighting Tigers from the NJCAA Northeastern District Championships.
