COBLESKILL MEN’S TENNIS DROPS 6-3 ROAD DECISION TO
 BROOME COMMUNITY COLLEGE

The SUNY Cobleskill men’s tennis team dropped a 6-3 regional road match to Broome Community College on Saturday at the Hornet’s home courts in Binghamton, NY. The Fighting Tigers overall record drops to 3-3 on the season with the defeat.

Defending NJCAA Region III Champion senior Steve Weiss, Getzville, NY, Williamson North High School, captured the first singles for the Fighting Tigers to remain unbeaten versus regional competition by scores of 6-3 and 6-3. Weiss then teamed with his doubles partner senior Andy Steiner, Perry, NY, Perry High School, to win the first doubles flight by an 8-6 margin in a pro-set. Freshman John Hazelton, Greenville, NY, Greenville High School, won the Fighting Tigers other match at the number three singles spot taking the contest by scores of 6-3 and 6-4.

The Fighting Tigers will return to the courts on Tuesday April 24th when they host Mountain Valley Conference rival Herkimer Community College at the SUNY Cobleskill Tennis Complex at 4:00 PM.
