COBLESKILL MEN’S TENNIS LOSES 5-4 ROAD DECISION TO MVCC

The SUNY Cobleskill men’s tennis team saw their season opening four-match winning streak come to an end on Thursday afternoon dropping a 5-4 road decision to Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY in a non-conference contest. The loss puts the Fighting Tigers overall record at 4-1 overall to date.
The bright spots of the match for Cobleskill was the continued strong play of the duo of senior captain Greg Klopfer, Voorheesville, NY, Voorheesville High School, who took the number three singles slot by scores of 6-0 and 6-2 and freshman number four singles Zak Kraehmer, Wallkill, NY, Wallkill High School, who won his match by scores of 6-3 and 6-0. The Fighting Tiger tandem remained unbeaten at doubles play winning at the number two doubles position by score of 10-2 in a pro-set.
The Orange & Black will return to action on Saturday April 19th when they host Broome Community College in NJCAA Region III Division III action at the SUNY Cobleskill Tennis Complex with first serve at 12:00 PM. The starting time of the match has been moved up one hour from its originally scheduled 1:00 PM start. |
