COBLESKILL’S SUAREZ NAMED MOST VALUABLE MALE TRACK AHTLETE AT 2008 NJCAA REGION III CHAMPIONSHIPS
SUNY Cobleskill men’s track & field team member senior David Suarez, Hauppauge, NY, Hauppauge High School, was named the Men’s Most Valuable-Track-Athlete at the 2008 NJCAA Region III Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Alfred State College in Alfred, NY over the weekend.
Suarez helped lead the Fighting Tigers to their first NJCAA Region III Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship since 1970 by winning the 100 Meter Dash with a new program record time of 10.99 seconds and capturing the 200 Meter Dash also establishing a new program record with a time of 22.07 seconds. The swift senior also ran the anchor leg of Cobleskill’s record setting 4 X 100 Meter Relay which finished with a time of 42.18 seconds.
The Orange & Black will return to action on Thursday May 8th when they travel to Delhi, NY, for the 2008 NJCAA Region III Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be hosted by SUNY Delhi from Thursday May 8th thru Saturday May 10th at the college’s track & field facility.
