VILLANOVA NAMED SUNY COBLESKILL WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD MOST VALUABLE ATHLETE
SUNY Cobleskill women’s track & field team member senior Jennifer Villanova, Clifton Park, NY, Shenendehowa High School, has been named the program’s Most Valuable At for the 2007-08 season. Villanova received her award at college’s 2008 Athletic Awards Convocation.
One of the most dynamic performers in SUNY Cobleskill history, Villanova was a five-time NJCAA Division III First Team Outdoor Track & Field All-American during her career winning NJCAA National Championships in the Long Jump in 2007 and the Pole Vault in 2008. The Clifton Park, NY, native also was a six-time NJCAA All-Region III and three-time All-Mountain Valley Conference honoree during her Fighting Tiger career.
Villanova led the Cobleskill women to a pair of second place finishes at the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in 2007 and 2008 as well as the 2008 NJCAA Region III Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship.
