SUNY COBLESKILL SOFTBALL DROPS SEASON OPENING DOUBLEHEADER TO COLUMBIA-GREENE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
The SUNY Cobleskill women’s softball team dropped its opening doubleheader of the season to visiting Mountain Valley Conference rival Columbia-Greene Community College at Fighting Tiger Park yesterday by scores of 11-2 and 15-3. The Fighting Tigers start the year with a 0-2 record on the year and in league play.
Freshman pitcher/outfielder Anastasia Yakaboski, Calverton, NY, Riverhead High School, had a good day with the bat for the Orange & Black going 5-for-7 on the day with two RBI while senior shortstop Kim McMillen, Greenville, NY, Greenville High School, went 3-for-6 with the bat on the afternoon. Senior outfielder Sharon Fitzgerald, Greenville, NY, Greenville High School, posted a solid second game for the Fighting Tigers going 2-for-2, 2-for-4 on the day, with a triple and a pair of RBI.
Cobleskill will return to action on Wednesday April 11th when they travel to Binghamton, NY to meet the Hornets of Broome Community College for a doubleheader beginning. |
