    Travel and Resort Marketing, A.A.S.

Travel and Resort Marketing is designed to prepare broadly educated sales and marketing professionals by emphasizing a mix of courses in travel, business, marketing and the liberal arts and sciences. All students will participate in the Campus Travel Center, a limited -service travel center, as well as off-campus travel and sales experience. It is recommended that students have two units of high school mathematics and possess computer skills.

The primary goal of the Travel and Resort Marketing program is to provide students with educational experiences that will prepare them for entry level and supervisory positions in all segments of the travel industry and/or to prepare them for additional formal education. The SUNY-Cobleskill Travel and Resort Marketing Program prepares students who are able to:

pursue additional education in travel and tourism, marketing sales, marketing management and/or to secure employment in one of the many segments of the hospitality industry.

use the Apollo computer airline reservation system that provides a student with the knowledge to secure employment within the travel industry. SUNY Cobleskill is one of two schools east of the Mississippi River to provide this type of training in a "live" environment.

navigate and use computer applications, including computer reservations, sales presentations and Internet research.

The faculty and staff of the Travel and Resort Marketing program have planned a curriculum which:

maintains a placement/transfer record of 98% for our graduates within 3 months of graduation.

provides a mix of theoretical and industry experiences, along with the educational courses in liberal and sciences.

includes an overview of the hospitality industry and the careers available in this dynamic profession.

maintains a curriculum that is current with industry standards and technology that will meet the needs of the student and industry.
