SUNY Cobleskill and New York State Registered Sex Offenders Notification Process

Dear Campus Community,

As a condition of New York State’s Megan’s Law, the SUNY University Police will receive direct notification from the Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) when a registered sex offender enrolls, is attending or is employed by a SUNY Campus. This statute authorizes law enforcement agencies that receive notification from DCJS to disseminate relevant information (about sex offenders) at their discretion. The information that can be disseminated to the campus community includes: name, address (either home address if Level 3 offender or zip code if Level 2 offender), physical description, crime of conviction, modus operandi, type of victim targeted, and special conditions of parole.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services has notified the University Police that William Lobdell, a Level 2 Sex Offender, is currently enrolled and attending classes at SUNY Cobleskill.
