Social Science AA
Students can specialize in their degree work in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences by taking courses in the areas of African American Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, History and Native American Studies. Working with faculty in the department, students can choose courses to match their intellectual interests and future plans. By taking a wide range of offerings, students learn the theories and methodologies of each field, can take advantage of research opportunities in their study area, and become well-versed in a specific social or behavioral science.
Psychology Concentration AA
Students interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology, criminal justice, or social work can pursue an Associate in Arts Degree with a concentration in Psychology. The faculty works with each student to complete the requirements in areas from Child Development to Social Psychology. This accelerated program features challenging requirements, such as Statistics and more advanced courses in biology, and is intended for students who intend to transfer into the most prestigious of bachelor’s programs in psychology.
