Early Assurance Medical Program
A.S. in Health Science Studies

Thank you for your interest in our Science and Medical Career Transfer Programs. We have an excellent record in preparing students for careers leading to degrees in basic or advanced science and medical areas. We are the only 2-year SUNY college with an articulation agreement with the College of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University.

SUNY Cobleskill offers opportunities in physical therapy, respiratory therapy, cardiovascular perfusion , radiation therapy, cytotechnology, medical imaging sciences, medical biotechnology and medical technology.

Under the Early Admission Programs, students are admitted to both SUNY Cobleskill and the College of Health Professions at SUNY Upstate Medical University at Syracuse. To qualify for the Early Admission program, students should be in the upper quartile of their class, have competitive SAT scores, and have taken three years of Regents level science and math. Students not eligible for the Early Admission program can be accepted into the college of Health Professions though the traditional Cobleskill transfer route.

Our Cobleskill-Upstate Early Assurance Physician program (make sure you scroll down to Cobleskill Medical School Early Assurance Program) is a one-of-a-kind program here in New York State. Students who qualify, and are New York State residents from a rural community, attend SUNY Cobleskill for two years in our A.S. in Health Science Studies program, then enroll at Cornell University or Siena College for an additional two years of study, and then continue their education at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse

Students from rural areas and students who increase the diversity of the medical profession are highly encouraged to apply. Students who qualify for this program should have 1200 combined SAT scores, a 90 high school average or better, and must maintain a 3.5 GPA throughout undergraduate school. We wish to encourage minority students to pursue our Medical Career Transfer Program, as there is a critical shortage of minority health care professionals.

SUNY Cobleskill wishes to help students meet this challenge. Students at SUNY Cobleskill who qualify for the Early Admission program or the Cobleskill-Upstate Early Assurance Physician program are generally eligible for scholarships and for the Honors Program.
