ECHD 352 - Positive Child Guidance

An examination of the principles and practices consistent with professional guidelines for developmentally appropriate child guidance and classroom management in early care and education programs. Includes discussions and practical experiences related to positive guidance and management strategies for work with groups and with individual children, family involvement, and environment, staffing patterns, scheduling, professional development of staff, conflict resolution and reflective teaching. Writing Intensive. Prerequisite: ECHD130, ECHD170, and ENGL101 or permission of the instructor. [Fall, Spring]
