Getting ready for your first semester at SUNY Cobleskill?

 

This website will offer a step-by-step guide to help you prepare for classes this fall. In the months leading up to your first semester, you will receive information from a variety of on-campus offices, so be sure to check your mailbox regularly.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Expect your I-20 to arrive in the mail. If you need a copy of the I-20 quickly in order to make an appointment for a visa interview, please contact the Office of International Education at InternationalEducation@cobleskill.edu. A scanned copy of the document can be e-mailed to you. Please remember that you will have to pay an I-901 fee before making an appointment for a visa interview.     • Join the Fall 2013 incoming Freshman  Group and start getting to know your classmates!
    • Submit immunization records to the Wellness Center.
    • Send the Office of International Education details on your arrival date.
    • Log on to banner web. This is where you will complete:
    •       -The Student Code of Conduct affirmation.
    •       -A housing survey to assist with roommate selection.
    • Housing information is mailed to students who plan to live on campus and have paid the advanced housing deposit. Students must log onto banner web and complete the online housing survey by June 1 for best consideration of their preferences.
    • Plan on playing a sport? Be sure to fill out an Athletic Recruitment Form so that the Department of Sport and Exercise knows you’re interested.
    • Click here to search for jobs posted exclusively to SUNY Cobleskill. It is a good idea to experience the first week of classes before thinking about applying for a job on campus.

  • Request to have additional documents, such as your final high school or most recent university transcript, sent to the Admissions. When in doubt, contact Admissions to see if any items are needed.
  • If applicable, document your disability and learn how to register for accommodations.
  • Check out meal plan options.
  • If you haven’t already, complete your housing survey!

 

july

 

  • The first college bill will be sent from the Student Accounts Office.
  • Order your textbooks through our Barnes & Noble campus bookstore.
  • By July 15, access your residence hall assignment as well as other important information about your roommate, including their name and phone number. You will also receive information about arrival to campus, residence hall check-in, and things you may want to bring for your room.
  • Begin looking through the list of SUNY Cobleskill Clubs.
  • Contact the Office of International Education at InternationalEducation@cobleskill.edu with your arrival date and time.
  • Check items to bring to campus. To determine the type of clothing to pack, view this link. Remember that there are four seasons in upstate New York.

  • Log on to your SUNY Cobleskill email account.
  • Prepare for international student and campus-wide new-student orientation, beginning Thursday, August 22.
  • Contact the Office of International Education at InternationalEducation@cobleskill.edu  with your arrival plans. Be certain to arrive at least one day before orientation starts.
  • Complete the web-based check-in process.
  • Follow up with Admissions to ensure your final high school transcripts have been received.
  • This is your last chance to complete these items before the start of classes:

    - Check out meal plan options.

    - Order your textbooks through our Barnes & Noble campus bookstore.

    -If applicable, document your disability.

  • Monday, August 26 - classes begin
