Global Ambassador Network

Global Ambassador Network article

The SUNY Cobleskill Global Ambassador Network was created in the fall of 2011 to highlight the international education opportunities available at the College and to allow those who have received such education to share their experiences with others.

If you are a current or potential SUNY Cobleskill student and are interested in learning about international education opportunities, please feel free to contact any of the Global Ambassadors listed below. You can choose an ambassador by the country you are from or are interested in for study abroad, or just contact any of them for international education advice. If you are an alumnus of the College and are traveling, living, or seeking a career in a country represented by an ambassador, please reach out to him/her.

Interested in Becoming a Global Ambassador?

Global Ambassadorship is a unique, lifelong opportunity to remain active and connected with SUNY Cobleskill and study abroad peers worldwide.  Membership is available for current returned study abroad students, visiting international students, and alumni who studied abroad and/or are working abroad now, as well as students who are in the process of their abroad experience. If you would like to join the Global Ambassador Network, please contact Andrew Lucas, Study Abroad Coordinator

PURPOSE:

To provide current international/study abroad students and alumni a leadership opportunity to share their experiences, advice, and encouragement of international education with prospective and current students

To give prospective students access to SUNY Cobleskill peer and alumni mentors, contacts, and resources when considering attending the College

For current students to utilize peer and alumni mentors, contacts, and resources when considering an international experience

For returned study abroad students to actively engage international students on campus through activities including conversation partnering and the International Club

For international students to play an active role in educating the campus and community about their home countries and to serve as and benefit from contacts/networking resources once they return home

To provide study/work abroad and international alumni a global networking resource for career, travel, and local connections abroad

For all participants to support and assist with Office of International Education events  and other activities to promote global awareness on campus, at local schools, and in the community

Participation in the Global Ambassador Network will allow you to actively use your international experience(s) to benefit yourself and others. Through the sharing of information and experiences, collaborating with one another, and networking into the future, this leadership role will keep you connected to SUNY Cobleskill, encourage others to go abroad, and link you to alumni worldwide, and is something you can be a part of for the rest of your life. It will also look great on your resume. The program will start off small and the number of Global Ambassadors will continue to grow each year as more and more SUNY Cobleskill students and alumni venture abroad. Eventually we will have a solid network of current, returned, and alumni ambassadors on campus and around the world. Contact Andrew Lucas for more information.
