- Affirmative Action Policy
The Affirmative Action policy at SUNY Cobleskill applies to both employees and students.
The substance of the policy insists on equal opportunity for all persons without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, age, marital status, arrest record, gender, sexual orientation or disability. The policy applies to employment on the campus (including student employment) and to educational opportunity.
The Affirmative Action Officer is charged with responsibility to investigate and resolve affirmative action and discrimination complaints, which include sexual harassment complaints. The Officer collects, compiles, analyzes, and interprets ethnic, age, salary, and other confidential employment data for affirmative action, state and federal compliance reports (i.e. Utilization Analysis). The Officer assists in the employment process of all the college's employees by assuring that search committees are diversified, that position openings are advertised and disseminated in minority and women-orientated publications, and that all searches are reviewed for affirmative action compliance.
The Affirmative Action Office is located in Knapp Hall, Room 211, and the telephone number is 518-255-5514.
