Agricultural Education Concentration

The Agricultural Business–Agricultural Education Concentration prepares students for post-graduate study leading to employment as public school and/or cooperative extension educators. Students will leave with a good working knowledge of agricultural business, issues in agriculture, as well as being fully prepared for study at the master’s degree level.

Degree Requirements
To fulfill the requirements for the Bachelor of Technology degree in Agricultural Business the candidate in the Agricultural Business–Agricultural Education Concentration must complete a minimum of 52 credit hours of major field requirements, 12 credit hours of general electives, 26 credit hours of technical electives, and 36 credit hours of liberal arts and science courses.

26 credits. Courses with the following prefixes (must include a minimum of 12 credits in Agricultural Business): AGBU, AGEN, AGRN, AGSC, ANSC, BIOL, ENHT, FWLD, RECM; AGBU 301 will be required for students entering the BT program who have not majored in agriculture for their associate degree.

Liberal Arts and Sciences Requirements
36 credits. Includes 6 credits of upper-division courses with two different prefixes. May not include MATH 101X or MATH 101. Must include PSYC 111.

General Electives
12 credits.

Students should check with their advisors to make sure courses are taken in proper sequence and any prerequisites have been met. Some flexibility is available as to when courses must be taken. Students should consult with their advisors during the scheduling process.
