Dairy Concentration

The Animal Science–Dairy concentration will give students advanced training so that they can effectively integrate concepts of dairy cattle production and farm management. The program is planned for students whose goal is a career in the dairy industry at the production level or in one of the many support industries. Courses are designed to build on a strong foundation from a two-year degree in dairy cattle production. The program will give students the opportunity to take advanced courses in production and also increase the breadth of their knowledge base in business and management.

Degree Requirements
To fulfill the requirements for the Bachelor of Technology degree in Animal Science, the candidate in the Animal Science–Dairy Concentration must complete a minimum of 44 credit hours of major field requirements, 20 credit hours of general electives, 26 credit hours of technical electives, and 36 credit hours of liberal arts and science courses.

Liberal Arts and Sciences Requirements
36 credits. Includes 6 credits of upper-division courses with two different prefixes. May not include MATH 101X or MATH 101. Recommended for Animal Science majors are the following: COMM 301, BIOL 300, BIOL 307, BIOL 308, SOSC 311, GOVT 345.

20 credits.
