General Enrollment Information
We usually have a waiting list so it is imperative that you call to put your child on the list as soon as you know you are planning on attending S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill.
If you are pregnant and know you will need care for your baby soon after he/she is born call to put "Baby Jones" on the waiting list. You will be sent a packet containing a blue card. Fill it out and send it back ASAP.
A child's admission is prioritized as follows: Student, Faculty & Staff, or Community family.
As soon as you are notified of your child's Acceptance, you will be required to submit a $100.00 deposit to secure your child's position.
We require a current physical as well as proof of All up-to-date immunizations.
The Center's policy is to enroll children full time and to serve the needs of children and families in the community.
Part time slots are available on a conditional basis and provide full day care two or three days per week. The condition to accomodate a part time slot is met when there is another part time slot to make up a full week.
We are open from the middle of August to the end of June each year. We are closed the month of July and the first two weeks in August. A summer program is in the planning stages. We are also closed the week between Christmas and New Years and the day after Thanksgiving.
We have an open door policy and welcome your visit any time during your child's day. Parents enjoy having lunch with us, sharing their hobbies and skills to enhance our program, or just coming in during a break in their day for hugs and kisses.
You will sign a confidential release form telling us who you authorize to pick up your Child. Your Child will not be released to any one else without written permission.
Health Policy
Sick Child at Center
In spite of the continued efforts of our staff to prevent infection by frequent washing of their hands, teaching the children how & when to wash hands as well as sterilizing toys and keeping a clean environment; children are exposed to elements which make them sick. When a child is sick the only place they want to be is with mom or dad. In keeping with our philosophy of doing what is in the best interest of the child and family we do not have a sick room.

Reporting Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect
Under the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, the Cobleskill Campus Child Care Center teachers and administrators are mandated reporters of any suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect. Our reporting procedure includes close consultation among parents, teachers and administration BEFORE a report is made. Our practice is to document concerns regarding children and confer with parents whenever possible. Our process is that the teacher who suspects abuse will communicate to the director. If we feel reporting is necessary the parent will be notified before such an action. Family support and child safety is of optimal importance to us and we are committed to the prevention of child abuse.
