Welcome to The SUNY Cobleskill Foundation Equestrian Center.

Opened in September 2005, The Equestrian Center is a full-service, state-of-the-art riding facility located on the 750 acre main campus of the State University of New York at Cobleskill (SUNY Cobleskill).

The college, which enrolls approximately 2,500 students, is located 40 minutes southwest of Albany, just over an hour from Saratoga Springs in beautiful and historic Schoharie County and four hours from New York City.

The Village of Cobleskill, with approximately 5,300 residents, is a typical small college town with convenient access to shopping, dining, houses of worship, recreational facilities and medical services. With a history that dates to 1711, the Cobleskill area is a treasure trove of historic sites and museums.

Full-service Equestrian Center

Available to students and the general public, the Equestrian Center services the needs of the college's bachelor's and associate' degree programs in Equine Studies while offering all students and the public onsite boarding, training and lessons. The Center also servers as the home of the college's intercollegiate hunt seat and western equestrian teams which complete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). The Center hosts frequent clinics featuring top equestrian professionals with plans to host competitive shows and competitions beginning in 2006.

Lessons may be taken for college credit or simply to advance one's horsemanship skills. Instruction is offered from the beginner level to the most advanced in hunt seat, dressage, show jumping, evening and western riding. Children are particularly welcome and the Center offers a number of lesson plans and programs for the younger rider as well as summer and winter horseback riding day and boarding camps along with special weekend camps throughout the year. The Center is proud to offer a therapeutic riding program available to members of the community with special needs.

The director, staff, faculty and students involved in the Equestrian Center create a professional yet friendly atmosphere where riders of all levels and experience feel at home.
