  • Exploratory Studies

Each year students who have not yet decided which academic program best suits their needs and interests enroll at SUNY Cobleskill. Exploratory Studies gives students classroom and field experiences to help them make a more informed decision about the selection of a specific major.

After the first semester, Exploratory Studies students may make a decision to change to a specific major from among our five divisions, contingent upon meeting specific entrance requirements for the program of their choice.

Course work up to the point of declaring a major is evaluated within each program area to determine how credits for that work will be applied to the new curriculum.

If students are not ready to change to a specific major at this time, they may remain Exploratory Studies students and continue to work with their Exploratory advisor for one more semester.
