2:00pm-4:00pm Showcase

Participant Information

Student poster presenters will spend two hours standing next to their poster (2:00 pm - 4:00 pm). They will speak about their research project to faculty and students and entertain questions from those who pass by. Van Wagenen Library will provide tables, display easels and materials needed to mount their posters (tape, push pins, etc.).

Printing your poster

  • Posters should be a maximum of 36"x48" and formatted on the provided SRS template.
  • The library has provided funding to have posters printed at the campus print shop.
  • Presenters will be emailed instructions for submitting their completed posters for printing by April 26th.

Day of the Conference

  • All posters presentations will be located in the library.
  • Arrive during the designated time (12:00pm-1:00pm May 3rd) to set up your poster.
  • When you arrive, event staff will direct you to your specific table location and give you your nametag.
  • If you decide to supplement your poster with an electronic display, you must bring your own fully charged laptop/tablet as the facility cannot guarantee power in the poster display area.
  • Present yourself well: dress professionally, wear your nametag, turn off cell phone or personal computer (or turn off volume).
  • Be prepared to learn: this is an opportunity to confidently share your hard work and humbly look forward to respectful questions and constructive feedback.
  • Good news: being nervous does not hurt your credibility or authority. Have fun and enjoy!

Van Wagenen Library Institutional Repository

Consider publishing your Student Research Showcase submission in SUNY Cobleskill's Institutional Repository, which is curated by the Van Wagenen Library. Publishing your work here will build your scholarly identity that people can find through Google, GoogleScholar or other search engines.

You will receive a link to your published presentation that you can refer to in the years to come.

Presentations from students that participated in previous year’s Student Research Showcase can be seen in the student archives section of the institutional repository.

To submit your project to the institutional repository, please fill out this form.

It’s easy to publish your work. Instructions for submission are included on the form. Simply fill out the form and submit it along with the file you used to create your poster to Peter Barvoets in the Van Wagenen Library. If your abstract is included in your submission, you may leave the abstract field in the form blank. We will also have the form available the day of the presentation. Please bring your finished project with you on a usb drive and we will download it. You may also email your project file to Peter Barvoets. Please contact Mr. Barvoets if you have any questions about submitting your work.

Posters will remain up in Van Wagenen Library through Friday, May 11th. After that, student work will be collected and digitally stored in our Institutional Repository.

This is an annual event showcasing the scholarly work of SUNY Cobleskill students. Please contact Beth Orgeron or Brendan Aucoin with questions or suggestions.
