Third Annual Communiversity Fundraiser Set for Feb. 12
January 6, 2011
SUNY Cobleskill hosts its third annual Communiversity Fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 12. This year’s event, a tribute to the 1969 music festival Woodstock, will be held in the campus’ Bouck Hall Ballroom beginning at 6 p.m., with culinary delights provided by the College’s Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Tourism department.
Tickets — $40 each or $10 for SUNY Cobleskill students — are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. For more information, contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 518-255-5524 or e-mail email@example.com no later than Friday, Feb. 4.
Proceeds will strengthen the local community by increasing access to grants that have a direct economic, academic and cultural impact on the area. Funds will be used to support SUNY Cobleskill’s Title III Grant request and a series of Community Development Grant Writing workshops to foster successful grant writing by community partners.
The event also features a cash bar sponsored by the Best Western Inn of Cobleskill. Woodstock era dress is encouraged, with prizes to be awarded for most authentic outfit. Classic Productions will recreate the sounds and visuals of the unforgettable Summer of Love, with tributes to Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, Melanie and others.
SUNY Cobleskill is committed to being a community of scholars who are scholars for the community – sharing talents, resources and expertise with local government and business leaders to the mutual benefit of all. Creating a “communiversity” helps to further develop Schoharie County as a destination of choice for those seeking an exceptional education, diverse employment opportunities and residency in a vibrant, unique, rural community.
