SUNY Cobleskill Culinary Management Student Receives Culinary Achievement Award
Andrew Dubrule, a Culinary Management BBA student at SUNY Cobleskill, received a Student Culinary Achievement Award at the ChefKey.com launch event held at Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady on June 21st.
The Albany, NY-based corporation,ChefKey.com, a centralized “Culinary Media Network” offering a one-of-a kind hybrid of top social networking sites, hosted the event in Schenectady as one of three national events catering to foodies, chefs, culinary students, businesses and industry organizations and educators to introduce the website, its Founder/CEO Laura Laz, and Development Director Jim Tafur.
Featured speaker, Food Network Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine (“Restaurant Impossible” and “Dinner:Impossible”), discussed the secrets of mastering the art of cooking and getting into the culinary business, as well as becoming a chef and possibly a food star. The forum closed with an announcement about ChefKey’s Culinary Student Competition Countdown by ACF Educator of the Year and SUNY Cobleskill Professor Dave Campbell, who introduced the top ten culinary students representing their schools in this fall’s competition.
