Les Dames d’Escoffier NY to Tour Schoharie County Farms

Members of Les Dames d’Escoffier New York (LDNY), thepremier organization devoted to professional women in wine, food and hospitality, will travel from New York City to visit Schoharie County farms and local producers Saturday, October 5th.  Dame Jo Anne Cloughly, LDNY member, Associate Professor and Chair of the Agriculture and Food Management program at SUNY Cobleskill, is organizing the group’s tour activities.

The day’s itinerary includes stops at Wellington’s Herbs and Spices, Barber’s Farm, Cowbella/Danforth Farms, and Harpersfield Cheese.  Dinner at SUNY Cobleskill will feature local products, including beef and brown trout raised on the campus and other items from the producers that will be featured on the day-long tour.  Dessert, a pumpkin streusel cake with a berry spiced chevre mousse, which was served by the College’s Culinary Arts program at Senator Gillibrand’s New York Farm Day in Washington, DC, recently, will be comprised of ingredients available from Schoharie Fresh, SUNY Cobleskill’s online farmer’s market.

Attendees will receive a gift bag featuring locally produced products and foods courtesy of Schoharie County producers and Schoharie Fresh.
