SUNY Cobleskill Launches Virtual Tour for Prospective Students and Visitors

The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill launched a new virtual tour for prospective students and visitors featuring 17 tour stops with additional photos and videos that offer viewers a comprehensive snapshot of the College. The tour, which was shot during the summer of 2013, will be updated annually to capture the increasing improvements to the campus.

A tour app, accessible at , allows the user to tour the campus much like that of an in-person tour.  SUNY Cobleskill locations featured include Bouck Hall, Knapp Hall, Van Wagenen Library, Veterans Plaza, Dormitory Halls, the Upper-Quad, Equine Center, Dairy Complex, and Coby's Cafe.

The tour was developed through an enrollment management initiative in partnership with YouVisit in an effort to increase outreach to students for whom a campus visit may be cost-prohibitive and to widen the potential outreach far beyond our traditional recruitment borders.  In fact, the tour can be viewed using narration in Spanish, Turkish and Chinese, to allow prospective international students to get more out of the tour.

"We are excited to share our beautiful campus with prospective students near and far who may not have the opportunity to step on to campus," said Dr. Tara Winter, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management. "Since our initial launch, we’ve already had visitors from Florida, Wisconsin and as far away as Malaysia!"

More than 44,000 prospective students received the tour link via e-mail. The link is embedded on SUNY Cobleskill’s website and was distributed through some of our social media channels as well. SUNY Cobleskill also offers a smart phone app for a mobile-friendly version of the tour.  The app also links to daily press releases and a GPS powered tour of the campus for those who want to use it as a self-guided tour while on-campus.
