Cobleskill Auxiliary Services Welcomes New Marketing Director
Jason Stratton is the new Marketing Director for Cobleskill Auxiliary Services, Inc. Stratton recently served as group sales director at Windam Mountain, and was previously sales manager at Schweitzer Resorts in Sand Point Idaho. Cobleskill Auxiliary Services (CAS) is the company that provides auxiliary student services at SUNY Cobleskill, such as dining, laundry and vending, catering and the college store.
According to CAS Executive Director Jerry Stacy, the Marketing Director position was created to better market the campus’ Frederic R. Bennett Ski Lodge and Recreation Center, and raise awareness of services offered by CAS. Stratton will work to develop more programs for the campus ski lodge during the off season, and better market the facility to community groups.
Stratton views the new position as an adventure and intends to “turn our ski lodge and the surrounding property into a gem for the surrounding community, as well as the college.”
Stratton has specialized in off-season programs and products for similar facilities. He described the college’s ski area as one that fosters learning and has something to offer not only for skiers and snowboarders, but for those seeking total winter and off-season recreation.
Stratton is a community-minded individual who has served as a Rotarian in New York, Idaho, and Michigan. Originally from Michigan, he studied elementary art education at Western Michigan University. Stratton, who lives in Greenville, owns his very first pair of leather ski boots. He says his family claims he started skiing at the age of nine months.
