SUNY COBLESKILL AND SAGE COLLEGE OF ALBANY ANNOUNCE PHYSICAL EDUCATION ARTICULATION AGREEMENT
The State University of New York at Cobleskill (SUNY Cobleskill) and Sage College of Albany have announced completion of an articulation agreement that will facilitate transfer of students in Cobleskill’s Social Science-Physical Education/Recreation/Sports Studies Program to Sage’s Bachelor of Science in Physical Education program.
Under the terms of the agreement, SUNY Cobleskill students with a 2.75 grade point average and the appropriate courses will be automatically admitted to Sage College of Albany with a maximum of 60 credit hours accepted in transfer.
In formally announcing the agreement, Cobleskill Dean of Liberal Arts & Sciences Thomas J. Hickey noted, “This represents another exciting development in the physical education program here at SUNY Cobleskill. Our partnership with Sage College of Albany will benefit the students at both institutions."
According to Cobleskill Physical Education/Recreation/Sports Studies Chairperson Kevin McCarthy, “This gives our students another viable transfer option and meets the needs of students who wish to study in the Capital District. We are extremely excited about our new relationship with Sage and look forward to an excellent working relationship.”
The Cobleskill Physical Education/Recreation/Sports Studies program now has articulation agreements with the Physical Education program’s of: SUNY Cortland, Cortland, NY, SUNY Brockport, Brockport, NY, Castleton State University, Castleton, VT and Sage College of Albany, Albany, NY.
SUNY Cobleskill is a fully accredited, comprehensive undergraduate residential college enrolling nearly 2,500 students in over 42 two-year associate degree programs and 21 four-year bachelor degree programs. Academic programs are divided into three divisions: Agriculture and Natural Resources; Business and Computer Technologies and Liberal Arts and Sciences.
The college’s 750-acre campus is located in New York's Schoharie County-a picturesque and historic area approximately 160 miles northwest of New York City and midway between Albany and Oneonta in Schoharie County directly off Interstate 88 on the western edge of the town of Cobleskill, NY. It was chartered by an act of the state legislature in 1911 and opened its doors as the Schoharie State School of Agriculture in 1916.
