Attendance and Absences

The College assumes that a student who registers in a course accepts responsibility for full participation in all course activities. Students are therefore expected to attend classes and laboratories regularly. Standards of performance are established by the individual instructor and will be explained by each instructor at the first session of each class; each student will receive a course outline.

Specific regulations regarding attendance are listed below in Sections 5.20-5.24.
As a general rule, the class is to remain a minimum of ten minutes if the instructor is not present at the scheduled time of the class.

Students who are excused from classes because of a field trip or athletic contest are responsible for making up work to the satisfaction of the instructors concerned. If assignments are due during the classes missed, students must hand them in prior to their departure. Also, students are responsible for obtaining assignments and being prepared for the next class session.
