Mission Statement

The mission of SUNY EMS team is to provide pre-hospital emergency care in accordance with New York State Health Department policy for emergency medical services.

This group of dedicated, volunteer students manage a basic life support (BLS) first response service.  The team is invested in providing training and support to their members in order to maintain optimal skills and certifications.  The Student Medical Response Team also provides public information and education on prevention of accidents, injuries and emergency aid.

Administrative Structure

The SUNY  EMS Team is part of the Student Development and Collegiate Life division.  The team is supervised by Wellness Center and University Police departments.

Membership

Members of the SUNY EMS Team must be currently enrolled students and have good standing within the college community.  Potential members must complete an application and interview process.  Prior CPR/AED certification is not required.
