Turfgrass Management Minor

Overview

The Turfgrass Management Minor provides students with an introduction to the management and maintenance of turfgrasses used for aesthetics (residential and commercial lawns, parks, institutional grounds), and recreation (golf courses, athletic and sports fields). Students will gain an understanding of the techniques required to successfully establish and manage turfgrasses commonly grown throughout the United States.

To satisfy the minor, all students must complete 14 credits of required coursework plus an additional 3 credits from the elective listing. Bachelor degree students can seek to fulfill the coursework for the minor. A GPA of 2.0 or better is required of the coursework in the minor to be awarded the minor.

A maximum of 9 credits may be shared between major field requirements and a minor. Additional remaining credits may be met with courses selected from the following: General Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences options, and elective credit requirements.
