Alternative Spring Break

Want to Make a Huge Difference Over Spring Break?

Sign up for SUNY Cobleskill’s Alternative Spring Break.

The Alternative Spring Break program gives students the opportunity to use their talents and abilities to serve the community in a meaningful way. Students who participate will develop personal and group leaderships skills, learn about social and environmental issues, travel, meet new people, build new skills and make meaningful change through active citizenship.

In a recent trip, we traveled to South Central Kentucky, near Nashville, Tennessee and developed programming for underserved school children. Our students spent time with a local non-profit organization and helped them build their summer programs for area students. We also visited the City of Baltimore, Maryland on our way to Kentucky. One evening was spent in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee listening to music, exploring and having fun. It was a great time and we would love for you to be a part of our next expedition!

All student travel, meals, and accommodations will be provided. In return, students will volunteer 35-40 hours of service that week.
