Biotechnology is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, with high demand for trained practitioners in manufacturing, agriculture, government, academic research and beyond.

Cobleskill Ag & Tech’s Biotechnology program trains students in modern cellular biology, genetics and molecular biology, with a firm foundation in the arts and sciences. Graduates gain a solid understanding of ethical practices, learn to prepare technical reports, demonstrate good lab practice and understand the principles of microscopy and genetic engineering.

Students in the program may choose to specialize in plant, animal, pharmaceutical, medical or forensic biotechnology to suit their interests and career goals. Through hands-on laboratory work, research opportunities, and internships, students gain plenty of practical experience long before graduation.

What is Biotechnology?

A combination of biology and technology, Biotechnology is the field of applied biology using living organisms and bioprocesses to engineer and advance products. Our Biotechnology program is solidly based in the arts and sciences, with a further focused and advanced specialization in modern cellular biology, genetics and molecular biology.
