The CobyCard is the official identification card of SUNY Cobleskill issued by SUNY Cobleskill Auxiliary Services to all members of the University community. It is required for identification and access to essential campus services. It also offers convenient prepaid accounts for making purchases on-campus and off-campus. All students, faculty, and staff at SUNY Cobleskill are required to have their CobyCard in their possession at all times while on campus.
CobyCards are issued by SUNY Cobleskill Auxiliary Services, in the CobyCard office located in Knapp Hall, room 112. You will need to provide a government issued photo ID when picking up your CobyCard.
Immediately report a lost or stolen card by suspending it online by logging into your account or in-person at the CobyCard office, Knapp Hall, room 112. Suspending your card will protect any money in your accounts from being spent by anyone who finds it. To obtain a new card, go to the CobyCard office during regular office hours. Please note that a replacement card costs $25.
It is not your social security number, but a unique number issued by SUNY Cobleskill.
All residential students are required to have a meal plan. Select on-campus/residential meal plans include weekly Meal swipes, Coby Flex Points, and Downtown Dollars. Coby Flex Points are declining balance points which can be used in all campus dining locations for a-la-carte purchases and vending; Coby Flex Points are not refundable. CobyCash is a prepaid debit account on your CobyCard that allows you to make purchases on-campus. Downtown Dollars is a prepaid debit account on your CobyCard that allows you to make purchases both on and off-campus. Meals must be used each week and do not roll over. CobyCash and Downtown Dollars roll over each semester and year.
CobyCash and Downtown Dollars are cashless, prepaid spending accounts on your CobyCard that are accepted on-campus and off-campus. Coby Flex Points can be used in place of a meal swipe for a-la-carte menus items. 1 point is equivalent to $1. You may add value to your accounts at any time. Every time you use your prepaid accounts, the amount of the transaction will be deducted from your account and you may not spend more value than you have. Unused balances in CobyCash or Downtown Dollar accounts will roll over from semester to semester and year to year as long as you are a member of the University community. Coby Flex Points do not roll over and are nonrefundable - they reset back to the purchased Meal Plan amount.
Funds transferred by debit/credit card are available instantly. Money included in select meal plans is available when meal plan is activated.
Coby Flex Points can be used at all on-campus dining facilities, Coby’s, and vending machines. CobyCash can be used at all on-campus dining facilities, Coby’s, the campus bookstore, and vending machines on campus. Downtown Dollars can be used at all of the on-campus locations listed above, and also at popular off-campus businesses. See a complete list of accepting locations.
Just present your CobyCard for payment to the attendant at the register. Indicate which prepaid account you would like to use. Coby Flex Points can’t be used to feed a friend. Your card will be swiped in a terminal and the transaction authorized. At self-service locations, simply insert your card in the terminal.
If the vending machine does not work properly, report the incident immediately to CAS IT at 518-255-5204 or via email at bechtoda@Cobleskill.edu. Please include the location, date & time, and description of the issue of the transaction(s) in question.
Cardholder suggestions are welcome and encouraged. Recommendations can be sent via e-mail to our CobyCard Office. Please include the name of the location and why you would like to see them join the program.
Go to CobyCard Cardholder Account Center. Under the Login button, click “Forgot your username or password?” and follow the instructions.
Yes, it is secured via 128 Bit SSL Encryption so you can manage your account with confidence.
You may receive a refund of your CobyCash or Downtown Dollars accounts balance when you graduate, withdraw or leave SUNY Cobleskill. Refunds are processed after the Spring semester. Proof of withdrawal or dismissal is required. Refund requests must be submitted to the CobyCard Office through our online form.
