The Van Wagenen Library at SUNY Cobleskill is committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible environment for all members of our campus community. Accessibility is integrated into the selection, design, and delivery of resources and services to reduce barriers and support equitable access to information, learning, and research.
The library offers a range of loanable assistive equipment including text magnifiers, large-print/high-contrast keyboards, alphabet-order keyboards, smart pens, reading pens, noise-canceling earmuffs, and headphones. For a complete and up-to-date list of available items, please see the Equipment Available for Loan on the library’s website.
A high-quality scanner with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capability is available to convert documents into accessible formats. All interlibrary loan document requests are delivered in OCR format, and library staff are available to assist with scanner use or to scan physical materials into accessible formats.
The library collaborates with vendors to ensure that closed captioning and transcripts are available for digital media and can be accessed directly within library databases when viewing content. Closed captioning and transcripts are also available for the library’s online YouTube tutorials through YouTube’s built-in accessibility settings. When needed, interlibrary loan services may be used to obtain loanable media materials that include closed captioning.
Additional information about library accessibility is available on the Library Accessibility webpage. We are committed to ensuring that our website, services, collections, and physical spaces are accessible to all members of the campus community. We continually work to identify and remove barriers to access and to improve the usability of our resources and environments. If you experience any difficulty using the library’s website, services, or spaces, please contact us at 518-255-5841 or submit a Library Accessibility Form.
