The SUNY Cobleskill Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) is a comprehensive academic and social support system and dropout prevention program serving approximately 360 students in the 6th through 12th grades in seven local school districts:  Cobleskill-Richmondville, Jefferson, Middleburgh, OneontaSchoharie, South Kortright, and Stamford.

LPP was formed in 1990 with funding by the New York State Legislature through the NYS Education Department.  The partnership between SUNY Cobleskill, NYSED, and area school districts has provided a variety of services meant to motivate students to successfully complete high school and go on to post-secondary education and meaningful employment.

Together with parents, community-based agencies, and local businesses, the Liberty Partnerships Program helps students take full advantage of their potential by providing services that:

  • Enhance personal development
  • Identify and work toward goals
  • Provide academic support via tutoring and advocacy in the school
  • Raise college and career awareness and access
  • Motivate the pursuance of future career and life success via education and mentoring
